What's the Difference?
Quick-light coals contain chemical accelerants (typically potassium nitrate) that allow them to ignite with a lighter. These accelerants burn off during the session, affecting the flavor of the smoke. Many people attribute the "hookah headache" to this chemical byproduct rather than the nicotine.
Natural Coconut Coals
Made from compressed coconut shell charcoal. No chemicals. No accelerants. They take longer to light (we use an electric burner) but they burn cleaner, hotter, and longer. The flavor of the shisha is pure — nothing added, nothing competing.
The Time Trade-Off
Natural coals take 8-10 minutes to fully light. We start them before your session and manage them throughout. You never wait. You just benefit.
This is a non-negotiable at Fuego. Premium hookah requires premium coals. No exceptions.
